Recent Grant Recipients


All grant funds support central Ohio organizations to serve local children with special needs. Review their websites for more information about these local nonprofit organizations. Grant award criteria include mission, use of dollars, capacity, measurements, financial stability and value to TCC. Special thanks are extended to all the TCCMV member families who submitted letters of recommendation to support the grant requests.

Buddy Up Tennis for Down Syndrome: Providing individuals with Down Syndrome (we call them "Athletes") with a fun and supportive environment where they can learn and play tennis and develop athletically, socially and emotionally. Grant funds will support the Shining Star Tennis Team and summer camp.

Bridgeway Academy: Meeting the educational and therapeutic needs of children with autism and other developmental disabilities by helping children reach the highest potential through providing full-day educational services, and year-long speech, music, physical and occupational therapy services. Grant funds will help support the development of an app for teacher evaluations and record keeping.

Childhood League Center: Providing educational and therapeutic programs for young children with special needs and their families to ensure optimal growth and achievement. Grant funds will support the purchase of an art display to promote communication and skills development.

Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO): Supporting families, promoting community involvement and encouraging a lifetime of opportunities to people with Down Syndrome. DSACO sponsors a unique "iCan" bicycle camp that serves children with multiple special needs. Grant funds will sponsor a one-week camp for children with special needs to learn how to ride a bike.

Dublin Special Olympics:  Affiliated with Ohio Special Olympics, Dublin began offering its own Special Olympics program in the fall of 2012 to offer year round high quality sports training and competitions for Dublin athletes with intellectual disabilities. Our Foundation grant will support the aquatics program. Grant funds will support the winter swim.

   Easterseals of Central and Southeast Ohio: Easterseals’ purpose is to change the way the world defines and views disability by making profound, positive differences in people’s lives every day. The Foundation awarded a grant to the organization to purchase supplies for their early intervention program

Oakstone Academy: Providing an inclusive learning environment for children with autism spectrum disorders. Grant funds will support the purchase of a light board to be used for student job training and performances.
